Caral Lets Travel Back in Time in Peru!
Caral- Peru’s oldest and sacred city in the middle of the dessert.
130 radio carbon dating effected around the world concerning to Caral, with a worldwide recognition of its antiquity and existed 1500 years before Chavin de Huantar, its like saying the ancestors of Chavin de Huantar lived in Caral, a commercial bond existed between them in the same way that existed also a commercial bond between Caral and Bandurria. The highest pinnacle of development was in Caral. The advantage of the supe society was to have situated themselves in this area North-Central of Peru as a strategic point in which allowed them to connect easily with other regions and fertile valleys of Peru. Another point worthwhile mentioning is the nutritional equilibrium they had, because they had a complimentary economy in the fields of agro-fishing, therefore those who lived in the valley cultivated agricultural crops as well as cotton which thus was very important for the people who were dedicated to fishing, also this allowed fishermen to avoid using hooks but rather fishing nets which allowed them to fish larger quantity of fish. Caral situated in the middle of the Supe Dessert Valley, alongside the Supe River traded their products with fishing town of Bandurria which was discovered 20 years earlier than Caral.
Early civilisation developed in this part of Peru, and then later on extended their influence throughout other parts of Peru. The language spoken in Caral gave way to the quechua language which was adopted by the Incas in the times they founded the empire. The language was adopted by other cultures as a language of communication. Ruth Shady who explored and found Caral states that ceramics is not an indicator of civilisation, but only social political, religious economical, hierarchy organised and regulated life style which reflects technology and science, is an effective indicator of civilisation.
The living style of this civilisation was very different, not orientated to conflicts, but on the contrary the organisation had a tendency to a peaceful and collective community living, where there was no signs of the development of individuality. In this sense Caral sends of a very strong message in comparison to other civilisation around the world on how successful a civilisation can develop without aggression to others but under respect and inclusion.
Important findings in which Dr. Ruth Shady participated was the 32 traverse floot’s each one grouped with different designs that probably belonged to a large musical group, also another 38 instruments were found but it is not known how they were used. This reflects that this society gave special value to artistic activities.
